A Chic Summer Wedding Look

July 23, 2018

Hey Guys!

We’ve made it to yet another week and I’m hoping yours is off to a promising start. Last week I started tackling a big project that’s been giving me a lot of anxiety. I had been avoiding it which was making my anxiety worse. Funny how that works, huh? Fortunately, I had a good conversation with a mentor who helped nudge me in the right direction. The plan is to work on it little by little each day. So far, so good.

Since summer weddings are a thing and we’re definitely in summer, I thought I’d share some inspiration for a summer wedding look. When I think of what to wear to a summer wedding I think about dresses in classic silhouettes, pops of color, and interesting patterns/textures. This dress ticks many of those boxes. The shape/silhouette is super feminine and flattering. I love the floral print and the stripes add some interesting detail to the dress without making it too busy. The stripes also help tame some of the brighter colors of the dress. As my style has evolved, I’ve developed a new perspective on accessories. I always used to go big and bold. The louder/funkier the bracelet or necklace or earrings were, the better. Don’t get me wrong I still enjoy bold accessories, but I’ve also come to really appreciate the simpler ones. I like outfits that make simple yet striking statements, and one of the ways I do that is by pairing bolder clothing items with simpler accessories. This look is no exception. I wanted to keep the accessories simple yet classic so the dress could remain the star. To do that I opted for black naked sandals and a small black and gold chain clutch. This look would be perfect for a summer wedding and the best part is that the dress is under $100. You can find it here. The sandals were from Forever 21 and the clutch was from TJ Maxx #chiconabudget for the win!
